Relentless demand for services and uncertainty around Government funding mean Leicestershire County Council must act decisively. Their draft plan earmarks £131m extra for social care and sets out early measures to reduce costs and close a forecast £100m budget gap by 2030.

Next year's proposals include the potential income from a 2.99% Council Tax rise, but the final decision will be made in February once they have clarity on funding and growth pressures.
