Cllr Nick Chapman
I have lived in Glenfield most of my life. An electrician by trade in the family business. I have also been a respite foster carer for over 10 years caring for children with disabilities.
As the Covid-19 crisis unfolded in March 2020, I and a local businessman coordinated local action by forming the Glenfield Community Food Hub, and brought in other local stakeholders like Glenfield Parish Council, local supermarket chain Morrisons, the District Council of Blaby and other local community forums and businesses, arranging emergency food parcels for those who had no other way of accessing essential supplies and those who were financially impacted by job losses and hardship.
The Glenfield Food Hub is still operating and we welcome any Glenfield resident who needs some help to visit us at the Annexe (nr Morrisons) every other Saturday 0900 - 1200 hrs.
I am also currently one of your Blaby District Councillors, as well as serving as Vice Chair of Blaby District Council and Chair of the Licensing Committee at Blaby District Council. I am also your County Councillor for the District, where I am Vice Chairman of the Adults and Communities Committee.
